I have made the genre of my film quite clear with the use of colour; most of the scenes are full of dark colours such as black and brown, and a dull yellow, this shows that the film will have a serious tone, and will be aimed for adults. The first few scenes use dark colours and lighting because they are showing the characters boring life, you would no expect to see bright, stand out colours for scenes like this. The camera angles are wide shots from behind the main character because I am trying to portray the story from his perspective.
In one scene I use contrast by changing using bright colours and lighting because this one scene shows the main character in a brief moment of happiness, but the next scene reverts back to the dark lighting and colours so that the audience know that this is still a thriller.
The music/score is comprised of an orchestra who are playing at a low pitch and slow tempo, the effect is that it builds tension and suspense, whereas medium paced and higher pitched music is associated with family/comedy films. The voice over introduces the main character then hints his suicide before saying, "Until this moment", this puts the viewer on the edge of their seat because the want to know the twist in the story.
The trailer starts with a montage of the character during his usual work day which is quite slow paced and boring, but towards the end of the trailer another quick montage shows him living the "high-life" with money, women and power.
The trailer starts with the "Paramount" logo, this shows that the film is a high-budget production because a famous company behind it.
The character is portrayed as insignificant and weak at the beginning of the trailer, I have shown this by using wide, high angle shots, because even though he is given the main focus, a lot is happening around him which means he isn't important. However the second half of the trailer shows him as a more confident and important figure because close/medium shots are used and he is wearing smart, expensive clothes.
The setting in the second shot is in a busy street full of people which means he works/lives in a city with a lot of important people, but he isn't one of them. The third shot is similar, he is shown standing in a train station full of crowded people and then in an office with many people rushing around, whilst he just sits in a cubicle doing menial work.
I think audiences will want to see my film because there is a lot of mystery yet enough story not to confuse the viewer; the final shot is a cliffhanger because he is being held at gun point so the audience will want to know what happens to him; at the start of the trailer he is an ordinary man, but throughout he trailer you see him change into this confident, powerful man, but it is no shown exactly how it happens, so the audience will also be ancticpating the answer to this.
